Population, Health and Place research group

Based in the School of Geosciences, this group examines the connections between the environment, health and well-being, with a particular interest in health inequalities. is concerned with Commercial determinants of health; Physical and chemical environments and human health; Lifecourse of place; and Secondary data infrastructure.

Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research

The centre analyse administrative data from across Scotland and the UK, focused on key themes including lifelong health and wellbeing; community safety equality and wellbeing; health and social care and work, wellfare and housing. SCADR is involved in various technological innovation projects which aim to enhance the quality and accessiblity of administrative data for researchers.

RaceEd

RaceEd is a cross-university network concerned with race, racialization and decolonial studies from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Physical Activity for Health Research Centre

The main focus of the Physical Activity for Health Research Centre (PAHRC) is to develop, test and implement interventions which encourage people of all ages to ‘sit less and walk more’.

OPENspace

Bringing together experts in landscape architecture, environmental psychology, human geography, forestry, quality of life measures and design for all ages and abilities. Addressing the full spectrum of open space environments – from city parks and squares to remote rural landscapes –their work informs policy on health and wellbeing, social inclusion, countryside access and sustainable urban development.
